Encarta Dictionary defines Road as:
A track for vehicles: a long surfaced route broad enough for vehicles to be driven on it
A course of action: a course of action or behavior that leads to a particular outcome.
Both definitions infer action or moving forward. Sometimes we get lost as we move down a physical road or through a course of action. We do the same thing in life. Occasionally we lose our way in our marriages, with our children, in our careers, or within ourselves.
Any journey is more fun when we share it with a trusted friend or loved one. The journey of life is a difficult one. It is not only more enjoyable with a trusted friend, it is also easier. We all need directions at times. Asking the wrong person for directions will find you further down the road, but more lost than in the beginning.
The key to useful directions is the source. An outdated GPS or an uninformed local Joe will add to your difficulties and frustration. However, clear, concise directions will lessen your worries and improve the quality of your trip. Wrong directions during a physical journey will require that you turn around and backtrack, costing you time and fuel.
The road of life is not so easily corrected. Some decisions we make in life can be very costly. It is important that we follow directions from the right source in life. God's GPS is contained within the His Word--the Holy Bible. Let's travel down Life's Road together. Let's share information from the bible to navigate these tough times.
